Continue or Quit is the blog of Will Templeton, a man with a mysterious agenda. Having dabbled in videogame graphics and writing his thesis on the behaviour of hardcore gamers, Will is working towards his own unique voice in the crowd. He is of Scottish descent, although as far as he is aware it has had no effect on his health.
Will holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interactive Media with Animation, which is a surprise, since for the majority of his University career he was talking about games on message boards and podcasts instead of in an academic context. Continue or Quit is an attempt to collate that discussion into something resembling a coherent structure.

Wow, I cannot wait for this! It sounds like the movie that we have all been waiting for. How long is it going to be? Is it going to be a 20 minute short or a full length movie? Also, you need to play SLASO… not legendary. It’s so much more realistic. You feel like the little guy, even though you are the chief.

Funny how that was a trailer for Halogen and not for a fan-made film in any way, shape, or form. Smart dude, that Peter Cooper.
“If they feel that I’m endangering their IP, in a way that’s kind of a compliment. In the same way that Halogen was seen to be a potential threat against Halo Wars, for example. If they said that my small fan film, my £30,000 movie, was a potential threat to a $200 million dollar movie? That says a hell of a lot. I’d take that as a personal compliment. I’d cry into my tea for a while, if they did shut me down. It’d be tragic if they actually decided that. But if they took that decision, I’d understand, take it as a compliment, and hope that it could be solved in as swift and amicable way as possible.”
Oh, yeah, Microsoft issuing a ‘cease and desist’ order had nothing to do with them owning the rights to the Halo universe. It was totally because Halogen was deemed as a threat.
If he’s really that set to lose $30,000, he could always feed starving kids in Africa or something instead of intentionally violating various copyright and intellectual property laws.
The movie is going to be full feature length film. I’ve been following OC for a while; it appears like Microsoft and Bungie want this film to come about since it was featured on bungie.net and linked to twitter on 343.
Peter, you’ve got your head on straight, it seems, and that’s very comforting to all us Halo fans out there who demand that “if you’re going to do it, do it right.”

Good summary, but I would add one tip that is handy.
If you’ve purchased a new console and a friend or partner is now unable to play an XBL game on their own profile, simply sign into Live with your account that downloaded the game on a second controller. This then allows permission for other accounts to play, even something single player like ‘Portal: Still Alive’ works fine.
I didn’t know about that tool though, top notch news.
That’s a good tip for if you’re taking your profile to your friend’s to show him Portal, but if you’re doing it at home as a workaround for not having the console licence, then the better option is to use the online licence transfer tool so you don’t have to bother. If you’re in need if a quick solution, though, without having to sit down and redownload all your stuff, I recommend it.
Useful stuff to know for when I finally upgrade my piddly 20GB hardrive.
Speaking of hard drives, I honestly don’t see why your content can’t be tied to your memory unit rather than your entire console. Don’t all Xbox HDs have their own unique id code too?
I say this as someone who’s got to lug his console halfway accross town to play some Perfect Dark splitscreen this weekend, Dispite the house I’m going to having their own 360. All in all downloadable contents starting to leave a rather unpleasant taste in my mouth…
I have just received a replacement console from MS service centre, they say that the DRM licenses have been transferred but they haven’t.
How does the DRM transfer tool work with multiple profiles on the same console where each profile has its own different DLC.
If you want, you can try and battle with the service centre to get them to transfer the licences. When I did this, it took more than a month. It may be more efficient for you to use the tool, even if it does prevent you from using it for another 12 months.
The DRM tool works on a profile-by-profile basis, so you will need to go through the steps above for each different profile on your console that has content attached to it, by using the tool while signed in to each different account and downloading each piece of content to the console you want it tied to.
